Wake County Homes Re-assessment taking place in 2008

12/06/2007 by Aubrey Southwell

It’s tax assessment time! The Wake County Revenue Department is required to reappraise real property at least once every 8 years. The last assessment was effective on Jan. 1, 2000; so guess what that means - yep - on Jan. 1, 2008 it’s re-assessment time. Which can be a good or not so good thing.

Because Wake county is experiencing a healthy local economy many people want to live and work here. Which of course means that over the past 8 years values in nearly every neighborhood have increased and some very significantly.
